  3. Post update

    FT: Brighton 1-2 Everton

Here's what that result has done to the bottom half of the WSL table.

The three points sees Everton draw level with Brighton on 18 points, with them looking likely to finish comfortably in mid table come the end of the season.

In a season where they have had to struggle at times that will be a very satisfying result for Brian Sorensen and his side.

    The WSL table
  4. FULL-TIME

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

    It's all over.

No league double over Everton for Brighton as an own goal condemns them to defeat at the Amex.

Huge win for Everton and Brian Sorensen in the same week he extended his contract with the club.

    Everton celebrate
  5. Post update

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

Brighton are unhappy, they are convinced Katie Robinson was brought down unfairly in the box.

The referee is unmoved though and play continues.

  6. Post update

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

Courtney Brosnan fails to deal with the corner into the box and after some confusion the ball is hooked away for another corner.

The second cross goes deep into the box but this time Everton clear without much fuss.

  7. Post update

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

Pauline Bremer has looked lively since coming on.

She tries to send a cross into the box but it is cleared away by Katja Snoejis on the cover.

Brighton head on the attack once more but can only force a corner kick.

  8. INJURY TIME

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

We're heading towards stoppage time on the South Coast but Brighton continue to take their time and play their way in search of another equaliser.

They will have five further minutes to find it.

  9. SUBSTITUTION

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

Kathrine Kuhl makes way for Everton to be replaced by Martina Piemonte.

Defender Elise Stenevik, who had been struggling with cramp int he last few minutes, also makes and is replaced by Eleanor Dale.

  10. SUBSTITUTION

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

A final throw of the dice for Brighton?

Maria Thorisdottir comes on to replace Jorelyn Carabali in the back three.

And Emma Kullberg replaces goalscorer Tatiana Pinto in midfield.

  11. Post update

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

Trouble at the back for Everton but Brighton can't punish them for it.

Courtney Brosnan makes an odd decision to rush off her goal towards Madison Haley, who was trying to trick her way past Megan Finnigan on the right side of the box.

The Brighton forward gets past her marker and fires the ball into the six yard box but Justine Vanhaevermaet is on hand to spare her goalkeeper's blushes.

  12. Post update

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

Incidentally the second Everton goal has now gone down as a Guro Bergsvand own goal.

The Brighton defender was the unlucky party to have gotten the final touch on the ball before it rolled into her own net.

  13. Post update

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

Penny for the thoughts of Brighton boss Mikey Harris.

His side have dominated the second half with seven shots to Everton's one but it is the away side that hold the lead heading into the final stages here.

  14. Post update

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

Shouts of penalty from the home fans as Lee Geum-min goes down under the challenge of Justine Vanhaevermaet on the byline inside the box.

The Belgian international is saying the ball went out for a goal kick before the contact.

In the end neither player gets their wish and play carries on.

  15. Post update

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

After a first half lacking in goals we've just had three in the space of 12 minutes.

Told you there would be goals in the second half didn't I?

  16. SUBSTITUTION

    Brighton 1-2 Everton

It goes to show just how under pressure the away side had been in the moments between the equaliser and their lead being restored, as Brian Sorensen had been preparing two further changes.

They are made after the goal anyway with Emma Bissell and Katrine Veje replace Sara Holmgaard and Lucy Hope.

  17. GOAL - Brighton 1-2 Everton

Guro Bergsvand own goal (72 mins)

    What happened there?

A mix up in the Brighton defence during an Everton attack leads to the ball being bundled into the back of the Seagulls' net.

It was hard to say if it came off keeper Sophie Baggaley or Guro Bergsvand but the goal has been given against the Norway international. Everton won't care one bit! They lead once again.

  18. Post update

    Brighton 1-1 Everton

Courtney Brosnan is back up and ready to continue now as her teammates walk back to position.

Everton had been under some intense pressure there for a few minutes before the injury stoppage.

Makes you question as to whether the Toffees goalkeeper was being clever and just buying some time for her side to re-group a little.

  19. Post update

    Brighton 1-1 Everton

Everton keeper Courtney Brosnan has just signalled to the bench before sitting down and holding her knee.

The medics come on to treat her as both managers use the stoppage for a tactical briefing.

  20. Post update

    Brighton 1-1 Everton

Another opening for the hosts who have hit another gear since finding that equaliser.

Brighton break into the left hand side of the box but Everton manage to just about deal with the danger.
